The idea of Peak Time dates back to 1999 at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga). “Our aim was to find the most talented and passionate students from the Baltic States, involve top companies that were looking for high-performing employees and establish an annual meeting platform - Peak Time”. The first competition took place in May 2000 and was widely recognized, and the following was proven: “Peak Time is a place where the best business students meet” (Peak Time 2008 organizers).
 
Originally Peak Time attracted students from the Baltic States – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, yet over the years it has been growing bigger and more international. Today, Peak Time is widely established student business competition. In 2009, the competition attracted more than 2000 applicants from more than 50 countries, among them - Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Georgia, Germany, Iceland, India, Italy, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, Singapore, the UK, the USA and others.
